Dunebrook's 2023 Dragon Boat Family Festival!
Come see the Dragons awaken on Saturday, September 9th at 9:00 am at Stone Lake in La Porte! The Dragons are boats powered by local company teams competing for prizes all for the deeper purpose to provide much-needed support for Dunebrook’s parent support programs. The Dragon Boat Race is the main event during our Dragon Boat Family Festival. The festival atmosphere will include a Family Fun Area with child focused activities, a Food Truck Bazaar and the Captain’s Online Auction. The event is free to spectators!
Dunebrook’s Dragon Boat Family Festival is an event for all ages. The skill in dragon boat racing is not in athleticism but in the synchronicity of the team working together. That is what makes it a great team-building event for businesses, faith groups, schools, families and friends, and organizations. Will be a festival atmosphere – the GIS Family Fun Area, Food Truck Bazaar, the Captain’s online auction, face painting by The Kraft Box and music. Teams and spectators are encouraged to bring sun canopies, beach chairs and blankets. Food will be available for purchase from many food truck vendors. While swimming is not allowed during the Races, guests can enjoy Stone Lake’s many amenities, including the playground, expansive beach, picnic tables, public restrooms, and free parking with handicap accessibility.
